Professional Activities
He served as the 43rd President of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan (AESJ). He was the Chairman Thermal-hydraulic Division, Computational Science and Engineering Division, and Risk Science and Technology Division of the AESJ. He was the Director of the International Association for Probabilistic Safety Assessment and Management (IAPSAM) and organized risk-related international conferences. Also, he contributed to the development of Nuclear Standards at the AESJ and the Japan Electric Association. He is a member of the International Technical Advisory Committee of the Nuclear Risk Research Center, CRIEPI. |
He committed to the New Safety Standards for Light Water Reactors Used for Power Generation for the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NRA). He chaired the Nuclear Science and Technology Committee of the MEXT and Nuclear Sub-Committee of METI. Also, he is a member of the Advisory Committee on Fundamental Energy Policy for Natural Resources and Energy, METI, and chaired the WG on Voluntary Efforts & Continuous Improvement of Nuclear Safety. |
