MORIYAMA Rairu
3rd Year Elctronic Engineering Student, Fukushima Prefectural Odaka Industrial Technology and Commerce High School
Growing up in a community where “reconstruction” has always been part of everyday life, I developed a strong desire to contribute to my community. For this reason, I chose to study electrical engineering so that I can support my region through energy and electricity.
In the future, I hope to be involved in projects that support Fukushima’s recovery and regional energy infrastructure. I am particularly interested in the decommissioning work at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Although I initially had a negative impression of decommissioning, learning about the advanced technologies involved and the international collaboration among engineers has inspired me.
At school, I study electrical engineering from fundamental theory to practical training and have obtained the First-Class Electrician License. Through these experiences, I have developed a strong awareness of safety and responsibility, as well as teamwork and communication skills.
I believe that ensuring a stable energy supply and realizing a decarbonized society require us to responsibly face the legacy of nuclear energy and pass it on to the next generation. Through this conference, I hope to learn from professionals working on decommissioning and think about how I can contribute in the future.
