Koji Aribayashi is the Director of the Atomic Energy Division at the Japanese
Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), a post
he assumed in July 2024.

Prior to his current position, he was the Science Counselor at the Embassy of
Japan in the United States of America from 2021 to 2024.

Mr. Aribayashi joined MEXT in 2001 where he worked to promote R&D in the areas
of Nuclear Energy, Fusion Energy, Space, Life Sciences and Materials Science,
among others. He graduated from the Tokyo Institute of Technology with an MA
in Nuclear Engineering in 2001.
