KUROKI Yusuke
1st Year Graduate Student, Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University
Yusuke was born in Aichi Prefecture in October 2002. When he was a high school student, he came to believe that nuclear power generation with enhanced safety is essential to solving Japan’s energy problems, and in April 2021, he enrolled in the school of engineering of the Fukui University, which focuses on education in the nuclear field.
Through his classes and practical training at the university, he became interested in High Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactors (HTGRs) and reactor physics, and in his senior thesis, he analyzed the effect of the coated fuel particle configuration model in a Monte Carlo code on the nuclear characteristics of the High Temperature Engineering Test Reactor (HTTR).
In April of this year, he enrolled in the Graduate School of Engineering at Nagoya University in order to conduct more advanced research on HTGRs utilizing reactor physics. In the future, he would like to be involved in the development of HTGR demonstration reactors and contribute to solving Japan’s energy problems.
