OKADA Hinata
2nd Year Advanced Engineering Course Student, Environment System Engineering Course, National Institute of Technology, Fukui College
Born in Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture. From a young age, she attended the local nuclear museum, which deepened her interest in science. Through the efforts of local nuclear facilities and the local community, she came into contact with the fascination of science, which became the starting point for her studies.
She then entered a technical college and decided to study science and technology. She experienced tours of various nuclear facilities, including McMaster University in Canada, Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, Shimane Nuclear Power Plant, and Oarai Nuclear Engineering Institute. In particular, the summer internship at Monju and Fugen, the Tsuruga headquarters of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency, provided a valuable opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the decommissioning, safeguards, and environmental monitoring sites and to experience the front lines of nuclear power generation.
In the future, she would like to contribute to the nuclear power industry in her hometown of Tsuruga. She is now studying organic chemistry with a sincere appreciation for the longstanding efforts of the local government and the nuclear power industry, and with a desire to repay the benefits of these efforts. She would like to explore how this knowledge can be applied in the nuclear power field and contribute to the development of the nuclear power industry by integrating the knowledge of both fields. Through this conference, she hopes to deepen her understanding of the local nuclear industry and link this to her future activities.
